Heavy-Duty Tilt Cab

Unlike Dodge LCF’s, heavy duty Dodge tilt cab models are available with three different cab designs. One is a non-sleeper short-cab model. The others are 73″ and 79″ sleeper models. Features common to all tilt cabs are these: roof-mounted ventilation; heater/defroster; fiber-glass, Ensolite; and Celotex insulation against engine heat and noise; box-section aluminum construction; a cab tilt-angle of 55 degrees; large engine access area; special access doors for tilt-less routine servicing; top-quality hoses, clamps, and electrical components from end to end; a Unison-Action seat for driver; high quality instruments; conveniently grouped switches and controls; and many other standard equipment items to make any trip, cross-town or cross-country, an easy, comfortable one.

First offered in the mid-60’s, the Heavy-Duty Tilt cab offered by Dodge was designed to be their first major long haul truck. As an ad for the truck says, For Any Road…And Any Load.  The Cabover was offered with three different cab options, the first, a non-sleeper short-cab model, the other two, a 24″ and 36″ sleeper models. The links below are for several different years of the heavy-duty tilt cabs.

With everything the standard tilt interior offers, plus: full carpeting (including the engine cover); door-trim, roof, back, and side panels; and simulated wood-grained instrument panel–all color-keyed as are the seats. And in sleeper cab models, the color-keying extends to curtains.
